Woodward Cruise: Detroit’s redneck traffic jam
When will Detroit and Michigan get off the memory lane trip? In these tough economic times Woodward Cruisers continue to wax poetic about a time when gas was cheap, Black folks couldn’t eat at the same lunch counter and without a high school diploma a redneck could buy a boat and house up north.
Despite the fact that we are in a costly and deadly war for oil… our state economy is in the toilet…Woodward Cruisers annual tribute to American decadence, ignorance and arrogance continues.

40,000 gas guzzlers, each of which gets 7 miles to the gallon, with gas prices at $3.00 per gallon, travelling up and down the 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue for 12 hours…
I’m going broke just thinking about it!!!
