But thank God we can’t shoot the doves!

So Michiganders have spoken and they said ‘F’ affirmative action.
It can’t be used in public university admissions or in government contracting or hiring. Now we can just count on people to do the “right” thing.
Michigan has spoken and they don’t want me.
What disturbs me is people have this misconception that because you may get accepted to college with the help of affirmative action that must mean you take some affirmative action class where you only get A+’s and only you and the other “minorities” in your class are given the heads up on future job opportunities.
NO! Once you get into class you work your ass off against people who came from rich school districts who were better prepared for college because they had more books, more teachers and fewer students!

Amen! And don’t try to get a job after that.
Do you know how many executives and Human Resrouce-types can’t “imagine” someone like you on a management track or they can’t “imagine” why you should make that much money?
The real problem with racism is that people who are in positions of power don’t really ’see’ you or they can’t ‘imagine’ who you are as an individual…or what kind of skills you possess…it is really pretty sick out here…

Since there’s no more Affirmative Action in Michigan, I guess the military can no longer have outreach programs to recruit women and minorities. Not that women and minorities are flocking to join up these days. Given the never-ending disaster that is Iraq, not to mention the situation with Iran and North Korea, one would consider that we should be doing everything possible for the sake of national unity and defense. Instead, there will now be even more reason for young people to not care about this country. Why go fight for freedom and equality overseas when you can’t get it at home? Talk about hypocrisy!
