What is wrong with Foxy Brown?
They say “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.”
However, after losing her hearing in 2005 and then regaining it through surgery in Feb. 2006. Foxy Brown has been arrested more than numerous times. The arrests have been petty and childish incidents.
One took place in August of 2004 during which time she allegedly attacked two manicurists and left a nail salon refusing to pay a $20 tab. The case dragged on for over a year and in October of 2006, Foxy was finally sentenced to three years probation for the incident.
During one of her court appearances, in Dec. 2005, Brown allegedly stuck out her tongue at the Judge in her case. She was then handcuffed to a bench and then engaged in an argument with an officer of the court. She later apologized to the Judge stating that she had stuck out her tongue to show that she was not chewing gum.
Most recently, Foxy was arrested in Florida, where a “take-down” measure had to be taken against her by police.
What is wrong with Foxy Brown? Often when people are involved in “near-death” experiences or especially traumatic experiences they find that desire to change their lives for the better. Not in the case of this young lady.
The 27 year old rapper has had three successful albums, Ill Na Na, Chyna Doll and Broken Silence. All of her albums have been certified Platinum. Her new album, Black Roses, is highly-anticipated and yet there are rumors circulating that she will leave Def Jam Records where her friend and mentor, Jay-Z is President.
In Foxy’s latest arrest, she allegedly threw hair glue at an employee of a Beauty Supply store where she had purchased some products and was applying them in the restroom. She became upset when asked to leave because the store was closing. The employees then called the police and she allegedly “swatted” at an officer. A judge warned Foxy that she was not supposed to leave New York without permission and reserved the right to sentence her to one year in jail.
As a Fox fan, I was saddened when she lost her hearing and prayed that it would be restored and that she would be able to go on to resume her career as one of the most dynamic female rappers ever. However, seeing her on the rampage acting like a child especially in retail stores is disturbing.
It makes me wonder if she realizes the magnitude of what happened to her last year. She was 100% deaf only to regain 100% of her hearing months later. And she has apparently changed for the worse.
I hope Foxy shapes up her behavior and become the role model that she can be. Because her next childish act may cost her more than her career.
